Configure stage decision closure (all/one/person/threshold)

A stage can be configured to close once all reviewers decide, just one does, a specific person does, or a threshold of reviewers is met. This article covers the decision closure options.

Approval stages: Decision panel

Open the stage card and select the Decision panel. The panel intro sums up how outcomes are resolved: "The outcome is always the worst decision — one rework required overrides all approvals." Choose one of:

  • Everyone must approve — the stage closes once every approver submits an approval.
  • One approval is enough — the stage closes as soon as any reviewer approves.
  • Specific people must approve — the stage closes once all of a hand-picked set of people have approved. Search and add the specific deciders from the reviewers already on the stage (including expanded group members).
  • Minimum threshold — the stage closes once a set number of reviewers have approved. Set "At least [N] of [M] reviewers must approve".

Production stages: Advancement

Production stages don't have reviewer decisions — instead this panel shows "Who or what advances this stage when the work is done?" with these options:

  • Assignee can mark complete — any assigned person can advance the stage.
  • All assignees must confirm — every assignee must individually mark their own work complete.
  • Specific person — a single named person (e.g. a project manager or creative director) advances the stage; pick them from the person search that appears.
  • Via API / script — an external tool or script calls the API to advance the stage programmatically, rather than a person doing it in the UI.

Notes

  • Switching a stage between Production and Approval type resets its decision/advancement settings to the defaults for the new type.
  • The Threshold and Specific-people pickers only appear once you've selected that option, directly under it.
