Resizing a task's duration on the timeline

You can change how long a task is scheduled to take by resizing its bar on the timeline. This article covers adjusting task duration.

Steps​

  1. Open Timeline and find the task's bar.
  2. Hover over the left or right edge of the bar until the resize handle appears.
  3. Click and drag the edge inward or outward to shorten or extend the task.
  4. Release the mouse button to apply the new duration.

For tasks, dragging the right edge changes the due date and dragging the left edge changes the start date. The change saves automatically, and reverts if the save fails.

Asset bars can be resized the same way — resizing an asset's bar updates its due date. Project rows can't be resized.
