Internal access vs shareable link access

Edoro separates access granted to workspace members from access granted through shareable links to people outside the workspace. This article explains the distinction.

In-app access (workspace)

Whether a logged-in workspace member can see an asset or project in the app depends on things like:

  • Whether the workspace is in Open mode (members can see anything with no workflow attached) or Restricted mode (nothing is visible unless it's specifically granted).
  • Whether they're an assigned reviewer on the item's current workflow stage.
  • Whether they've been explicitly invited (see Invite someone to review an asset).

The Access section of an asset's Share tab includes a "Who can see this asset?" panel that reports the actual reasons a person currently has in-app access. It's read-only there — those reasons come from workflow stage assignment or explicit invites, not from anything you set on that panel directly.

Separately, every asset and project has its own share link with a "Link access" setting: Anyone with the link, Only invited reviewers, or Only people in this workspace — plus optional guest authentication (a password or an email code) for links open to anyone. This setting controls who can open the link, and has no effect on who sees the item inside the app.

Why the distinction matters

Because these are independent, an asset can be locked down in-app (visible only to its current workflow reviewers) while its link is still set to "Anyone with the link" — or the other way around. If you need to be sure who can reach something, check both settings rather than assuming one implies the other.
