Setting task due dates and dependencies
Tasks can have due dates and depend on other tasks completing first. This article covers configuring due dates and dependencies on a task.
Setting start and due dates
- Open a task's detail sheet.
- Under Properties, use the Start date and Due date pickers to choose dates.
Dates also show up on the task card and in list view. A due date that has passed is highlighted in red, unless the task has no start date recorded yet.
Adding a dependency
- Open a task's detail sheet.
- Next to Depends on, click + Add.
- Search for the task this one depends on and click it to add it.
The dependency appears as a chip showing the other task's number and title. Click a chip's ✕ to remove that dependency.
Dependencies can also be added while creating a task, in the Dependencies section of the Add Task dialog — available once the board has other tasks to depend on.
Dependent tasks are shown inline on the task card and on board/list rows as small linked chips, so you can see at a glance what a task is waiting on.
