Dragging tasks between columns

You can move a task's status forward or backward by dragging its card between columns. This article covers moving tasks on a board.

Board view​

  1. Switch to Board view (the grid icon in the view toggle, or press B).
  2. Grab a task card by its drag handle (or anywhere on the card) and drag it into another column.
  3. Drop it where you want — an empty column shows a Drop tasks here placeholder to drop onto.

Dropping a card in a new position also reorders it within the column, based on where you release it.

List view​

Switch to List view (or press L) to see all lists stacked as sections instead of side-by-side columns. Tasks can still be dragged between sections here using the same drag handle on each row.

Finding your place on a wide board​

Boards with many columns scroll horizontally. Use the minimap in the bottom-right corner — drag its viewport indicator, or click anywhere on the bar, to jump to a section of the board without scrolling manually.
