Searching across projects, assets, boards, and tasks

Global search lets you find projects, assets, boards, tasks, and checklist items from a single search bar without leaving the page you're on.

  1. Click into the search bar at the top of the app (or press Cmd/Ctrl+K — see Using the Cmd/Ctrl+K quick-search shortcut).
  2. Type at least 2 characters. Matching results appear in a dropdown as you type, grouped into sections: Projects, Folders, Assets, Boards, Tasks, and Checklist Items.
  3. Click any result to open it directly — projects open to the project page, assets open in their project (or in All Assets if they aren't in a project), boards and tasks open the Tasks page, and checklist items open the task they belong to.

Each result row shows context to help you tell matches apart — a project's tags and asset count, an asset's project name, a task's board name, and so on.

Matching behavior

  • Search matches on multiple fields at once: project name and description, asset title, file name, content type, uploader name, and workflow status, plus tags across projects and assets, folder and board names, and task/checklist titles and descriptions.
  • If you type more than one word, every word must match somewhere (as an AND across words), but each word can match any of the searchable fields (an OR within that word) — so neelesh template finds items where one field mentions "neelesh" and another (or the same) mentions "template".
  • Search is scoped to your current workspace — you won't see results from workspaces you don't belong to.

Seeing all results

  • Each section in the dropdown shows a handful of matches. If there are more, click See all N [projects/assets/etc.] → at the bottom of that section, or click Search all results for "..." at the bottom of the dropdown, or press Enter in the search bar.
  • Any of these takes you to the full Search results page at /search, where every matched section gets its own tab with pagination. Use the tabs to switch between All, Projects, Folders, Assets, Boards, Tasks, and Tags.
