Merge two asset versions together
You can merge two versions of an asset into one when revisions need to be combined. This article covers merging asset versions.
Merging versions
- In the project's asset grid, drag one asset card and drop it onto another asset of the same file type.
- A Merge versions? confirmation shows how many versions will move, the version count before and after, and the resulting latest version number.
- Confirm to merge. All versions from the source asset are appended onto the target asset as new, later versions.
What happens to the source asset
The source asset is not changed or removed — only its versions are copied onto the target. If the source asset had no project of its own, it inherits the target's project as part of the merge.
Requirements
- Both assets must be the same file type — Edoro blocks the drop (and shows an invalid-drop indicator) if the types don't match.
- You need the Manage asset permission to merge versions.
