Organizing a project with folders
Folders let you group related assets within a project for easier navigation. This article covers creating folders and moving assets into them.
Creating a folder
From the project's Assets tab, click New Folder (only available at the root of the project — not while you're already inside another folder). Give it a name and confirm.
Moving assets into a folder
Drag an asset card (or a selection of assets) onto a folder to move it in. You can also drag files onto a folder from outside a folder view, or drag them back out to the project root.
Renaming, moving, or deleting a folder
Hover a folder card and click its ··· menu:
- Rename — change the folder's name.
- Move — move the folder into a different project. If a folder with the same name already exists in the destination project, you're asked to either Replace (merges the assets into the existing folder and removes the one you moved) or Keep both (the moved folder is renamed with a numeric suffix, e.g. "Name (2)").
- Delete — removes the folder. Assets inside are not deleted with it; see Organize assets: star, move, and trash for what happens to them.
Managing folders requires the Manage folders permission.
Trash and restore
Deleted folders go to Trash, where they can be restored or permanently purged — see Archiving, trashing, and restoring a project. A folder can't be restored from Trash while the project it belongs to is also trashed; restore the project first.
