Upload or change your avatar
You can personalize your account with a profile picture that appears next to your comments and activity. This article covers uploading and replacing your avatar.
Uploading an avatar
- Open My Profile. Your avatar (or, if you haven't set one, a circle with your initials) appears at the top of the page next to your name and email.
- Click the small pencil button on the bottom-right of the avatar circle.
- Choose an image file. Accepted formats are JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and GIF, up to 2MB.
- Your new picture shows immediately as a preview while it uploads, and a spinner replaces the pencil icon until the upload finishes.
There's no separate save step — the new avatar is uploaded and applied as soon as you pick the file.
Replacing or troubleshooting
- To change your avatar again, click the same pencil button and choose a new image — it replaces the previous one.
- If the file is larger than 2MB, you'll see an error and the upload won't start; resize or compress the image and try again.
- If an upload fails, you'll see an error toast — try again, or try a different file.
