Downloading a proof from a public/shared link

Someone who received a public or shared proof link can download the proof directly from it, if permitted. This article covers downloading from a shared link.

Steps

1. Open the shared proof link. No login is required — the link's token authorizes the request.
2. If the browser can preview the file inline, use the asset's download control the same way you would inside a workspace.
3. If the file type can't be previewed in the browser, a Download file button is shown instead so the reviewer can save the file locally, mark it up, and it can be re-uploaded as a new version later.

Permission to download

Whether a shared link allows downloading is controlled by the share's forwarding setting (Allow forwarding) when the link was created. If forwarding is turned off, the download option is not available from that link.
