Downloading a commented PDF (image, PDF, video, webproof, and HTML/MFE proofs)
You can download a PDF that includes a proof's comments overlaid on its content, for image, PDF, video, webproof, and HTML/MFE proof types. This article covers generating and downloading a commented PDF.
Steps
- Open the asset and expand its version history.
- Next to the version you want, click the download icon.
- Click Commented PDF.
The PDF is generated on the fly and downloads as <asset name>-v<version>-commented.pdf:
- Image proofs export as a single page with the image and its annotations.
- PDF proofs keep their existing pages with annotations overlaid.
- Video proofs get one page per distinct commented timestamp, each showing the extracted video frame with a timecode label.
- Webproof and HTML/MFE proofs get one page per distinct URL (and, for webproofs, viewport) that was actually commented on, captured as a full-page screenshot.
Commented PDF only appears for proof types the export supports — see Which asset types support commented exports.
