Reviewer Queue Depth
The Reviewer Queue Depth card on the VR Dashboard tracks how many pending reviews are currently stacked up for each reviewer. This article covers how to read the card and what it means for your team.
This is a read-only metric tile reflecting live queue state — nothing to set up.
What it measures
Reviewer Queue Depth counts, for each reviewer with pending decisions across active workflow stages right now, how many approvals are sitting in their queue. The card surfaces the reviewers with the deepest queues.
How to read it
- The headline number is the count of reviewers who currently have at least one pending decision.
- Below it, the card lists the top reviewers by pending count (up to 8), so you can see exactly who is carrying the most load.
- A reviewer with more than 10 pending decisions is counted as overloaded.
- Since this reflects current state rather than a historical average, the card is meaningful from day one.
Why it matters
A reviewer sitting on a large queue is a single point of failure — every project waiting on their decision slows down together. If you see the same name at the top of this list repeatedly, it's worth checking whether review responsibilities need to be redistributed, and cross-checking against Reviewer Coverage Risk to see how concentrated your review load really is.
