Review Cycle Time
The Review Cycle Time card on the VR Dashboard tracks the average time it takes a proof to move from submission through final approval. This article covers how to read the card and what it means for your team.
This is a read-only metric tile, not a workflow you configure — there is nothing to click through. The card updates automatically as your workflows run.
What it measures
Review Cycle Time is the average number of days a workflow stage takes from the moment it's activated to the moment it's completed, averaged across all completed stages in your workspace. Shorter cycles mean assets are moving through review more responsively.
How to read it
- The big number is the current average, in days.
- A warn marker appears once the average passes 7 days, and it's flagged as critical past 14 days.
- The sparkline shows the weekly trend over the last several weeks, so you can see whether cycle time is improving or getting worse.
- The card needs at least 5 completed workflow stages before it shows a value — until then it displays a "gathering data" progress bar instead.
Why it matters
Review Cycle Time is one of the clearest signals of how efficient your approval process is end to end. A rising trend usually points to slower handoffs, unclear feedback, or reviewers taking longer to act — worth cross-checking against Reviewer Response Time and Stage Bottleneck to see where the time is actually going.
