Read AI insights on dashboard cards

Dashboard cards can surface AI-generated insights that call out notable patterns in the underlying data. This article covers reading these insights.

Where insights appear

When a card has enough data and an insight has been generated for it, a purple AI Insight panel appears directly on the card, marked with a sparkle icon and a timestamp showing when it was generated. There's nothing to click to reveal it — it's part of the card itself.

When a card gets an insight

A card only gets an AI insight once it has crossed its minimum data threshold (the same threshold that moves a card out of its "gathering data" state, described in each card's own article). Cards below that threshold show a data-readiness progress bar instead, with no insight.

Insights are generated in the background on a rolling basis, not instantly on page load, and each one is cached for roughly a day before it's refreshed. If a card recently crossed its data threshold, it may take a little while before an insight appears.

What the insight tells you

Each insight is 1–2 sentences, written to be specific and data-driven rather than generic ("it's important to note that..." commentary is deliberately avoided). It's meant to call out the most notable thing about that card's current numbers — for example, an unusual concentration, a sharp trend change, or a threshold being crossed — so you don't have to read the raw numbers to catch it.

What it isn't

Card insights are a passive summary, not a conversation. If you want to ask a follow-up question or explore something the insight didn't cover, use the chat panel described in Ask AI questions about your metrics.
