Overdue Reviews

The Overdue Reviews card on the VR Dashboard tracks reviews that have passed their due date without a decision. This article covers how to read the card and what it means for your team.

This is a read-only metric tile that reflects the live state of active workflow stages — there's nothing to configure to turn it on.

What it measures

Overdue Reviews counts currently active workflow stages that are past due. A stage counts as overdue if it has an explicit due date that has already passed, or — if no due date was set — if it has been sitting active for more than 3 days without a decision.

How to read it

  • The headline number is the current count of overdue stages.
  • Because it's counting things happening right now rather than an average over time, this card is meaningful from day one — there's no minimum data requirement.
  • Below the number, the card lists individual overdue stages with how many days they've been idle and how many reviewers are still pending on each one.
  • If nothing is overdue, the card shows a confirmation instead of a list.

Why it matters

Every overdue stage is directly blocking content from moving forward, and each one adds to your overall Review Cycle Time. Because the list shows specific stages and pending reviewer counts, it doubles as a to-do list for who to nudge next.
