First-Pass Approval Rate
The First-Pass Approval Rate card on the VR Dashboard tracks how often a proof is approved on its very first version. This article covers how to read the card and what it means for your team.
This is a read-only metric tile that updates automatically as asset versions are created.
What it measures
First-Pass Approval Rate is the percentage of asset groups in your workspace where only a single version was ever uploaded — i.e., no revision round was needed.
How to read it
- The headline number is the first-pass percentage.
- A warn marker appears once the rate drops below 75%, and critical below 50%.
- Underneath, the card shows the raw split between first-pass assets and assets that needed rework.
- The card needs at least 5 asset groups before it shows a value.
Why it matters
A low first-pass rate points to systemic briefing or alignment problems rather than one-off mistakes, since it multiplies rework across every asset it touches. Read it alongside Proof Iterations, which shows the average depth of that rework once it happens.
