Approval Funnel
The Approval Funnel card on the VR Dashboard tracks how assets move (and drop off) through each stage on their way to approval. This article covers how to read the card and what it means for your team.
This is a read-only metric tile — it reflects live workflow activity automatically.
What it measures
Approval Funnel groups workflow stages by their step order in the workflow (stage 1, stage 2, and so on) and, for each step, counts how many stage instances reached it versus how many completed it. Comparing consecutive steps shows where the largest drop-offs happen as content moves through the process.
How to read it
- The headline number is the overall completion percentage: the count that completed the final step divided by the count that reached the first step.
- A warn marker appears once overall completion drops below 80%, and critical below 60%.
- Below it, a bar per step shows how many instances reached that step, scaled against the first step, so a steep drop between two bars is easy to spot at a glance.
- The card needs at least 10 instances to have reached the first step before it shows a value.
Why it matters
A steep drop at a specific step pinpoints exactly where assets are falling out of the process, rather than leaving you to guess from an overall approval rate. It's a good complement to Stage Bottleneck: bottleneck tells you where things are slow, the funnel tells you where things are actually being lost.
