Other automated action types

Beyond the action types covered individually in this section, Edoro ships additional default automated actions, such as Smush (image/PDF compression, with separate JPEG quality and PNG mode settings, and a choice of saving the result as a new version or a new asset) and Webhook (posts an HTTP payload to a URL you configure, with optional authentication).

Every action type — including ones added after this article was written — is configured and attached to a workflow stage the same way:

  1. Go to Admin Console → Content → Actions. Under Default actions, find the action and click Manage presets.
  2. Create a preset, filling in whatever fields that action's configuration dialog asks for.
  3. Go to Admin Console → Content → Workflows, open a workflow, expand a stage, open its Actions panel, choose On stage start or On stage complete, click + Add Action, and select the action.
  4. Choose the preset you created (or create a new one from here).

The full, current list of action types and exactly what each one configures is defined in the admin console's action config registry (pages/actions/action-config.registry.ts, with each type's dialog under pages/actions/configs/). If you don't see an action type documented yet, check there for its exact fields.
