FTP Upload action

The FTP Upload automated action pushes the asset file to a remote FTP or SFTP server when it runs. Unlike the other default actions, its presets are self-contained — each preset stores its own server connection details (including the credential), so there's no separate generic config step.

Setting it up

  1. Go to Admin Console → Content → Actions. Under Default actions, find FTP Upload and click Manage presets.
  2. Click New preset.
  3. Fill in the connection details:
    • Name for the preset
    • Host and Port (default 21)
    • Username
    • Toggle Use SFTP if the server requires it
    • Auth type — Password or Private key, with the matching secret field (and passphrase, for a key)
    • Remote path to upload into
  4. Save. The credential is stored securely with the preset — editing a preset later leaves the stored secret in place unless you enter a new one.
  5. Go to Admin Console → Content → Workflows, open the workflow, and expand the stage you want it on.
  6. Open the Actions panel, choose On stage start or On stage complete, click + Add Action, and select FTP Upload.
  7. Choose the preset you created (or create a new one from here) — the stage card shows the preset name and remote path.
