Convert to Image/PDF action

Edoro ships two related default actions: Convert to Image renders a rendition of the asset as an image file, and Convert to PDF renders it as a PDF. Both run automatically when the action fires and are configured through presets.

Convert to Image

  1. Go to Admin Console → Content → Actions. Under Default actions, find Convert to Image and click Manage presets.
  2. Type a name for the preset and click Configure & save.
  3. In the dialog, set:
    • Output format — JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, BMP, or GIF.
    • Page handling — all pages, first page only, or a specific page range (for multi-page source files).
    • Naming pattern — the output filename pattern (supports {{filename}}, {{page}}, {{total}}, {{ext}} placeholders), with a live preview.
    • Resize — none, a percentage scale, or fit to a specific width/height.
    • Resolution (dpi) and, for lossy formats (JPEG/WebP), quality.
    • Color space — sRGB, CMYK, or Grayscale — and whether to flatten layers.
  4. Save the preset.

Convert to PDF

  1. Under Default actions, find Convert to PDF and click Manage presets.
  2. Type a name for the preset and click Configure & save.
  3. In the dialog, set:
    • PDF/A-1b — toggle on for an archival-compliant PDF (this disables password protection).
    • Image downsampling — no downsampling, or a fixed dpi (72/150/300) for image content inside the PDF.
    • Password — protect the PDF with a password (only available when PDF/A is off).
  4. Save the preset.

Adding either action to a stage

  1. Go to Admin Console → Content → Workflows, open the workflow, and expand the stage.
  2. Open the Actions panel, choose On stage start or On stage complete, click + Add Action, and select Convert to Image or Convert to PDF.
  3. Choose the preset you created (or create a new one from here).
