What the assistant can't do yet (no hard deletes)

The assistant currently can't perform hard deletes on your behalf, among other limits. This article covers what's out of scope for the assistant today.

No permanent deletion

The assistant has no tool to permanently delete a project, asset, task, or task board. If you ask it to delete something, it explains that this isn't possible and, where relevant, offers the closest alternative:

  • For a project, it can archive it instead (see Creating and updating projects via chat), which removes it from the active view without deleting it. To actually delete a project, use the project settings UI directly.
  • There's no chat equivalent for permanently removing an asset, task, or task board — use the relevant page in the app for that.

Other current limits

  • Read and write, not remove. The assistant can list, create, and update projects, assets, tasks, task boards, and workflow assignments, but every action is additive or corrective — nothing it does is destructive.
  • No bulk operations beyond what you ask for. Each request acts on the specific items you name; broad phrasing like "clean up my projects" isn't something it will interpret on its own initiative.
  • Scoped to your workspace. The assistant only sees and acts on projects, assets, and tasks within your current workspace.
  • Requires permission. Using the assistant at all requires the Allow tokens permission on your role.
  • Daily message limit. Each user has a daily cap on assistant messages; once reached, you'll need to wait until the next day.

Not to be confused with the dashboard Q&A

This chat assistant, reached from the message icon in the header, is separate from the metrics question-and-answer feature on the dashboard. The dashboard feature answers questions about your analytics and reporting data — it doesn't create or modify projects, assets, or tasks. See the Dashboard section of the help center for that feature.
